Hey all, my friend Charles could use our support.
Rally America is having a tagline contest at their Facebook page and his far-superior submission is currently in second place.
Would you please take 10 seconds to click-through to Facebook and vote for “Zero To Dirty in Under 5 Seconds”?
Just do it now before you waste any time thinking about it. It will literally take you only two mouse clicks.
Thanks for helping out!

Truthful Tuesday
…with 30 seconds to spare.
- I don’t like when people I care about are put in uncomfortable, lose-lose situations.
And then we watched Iron Chef Super Chef Battle until 2am.
I don’t even.
One year ago, in Chicago, with Rick and Steve Albini.
I’m not sure I’ll ever get over how surreal those few nights were.
Dear Cutters,
That post has well over 1,100 notes now.
I originally posted it because I thought it was an interesting image: the context being that it was a box full of razor blades sitting in the hallway of a high school in the middle of summer construction. It had absolutely nothing to do with the context that many of you are now reading into it, and I kind of hate that it has suddenly taken on a life of its own as an image that is enticing to cutters. But hey, art is art and this is what happens.
If any of you kids have stopped by steelopus.com thinking you’d find a haven for self-harm, well then you must be pretty disappointed by now - and yes, I deliberately used the word kids - because, of the hundreds of your blogs that I’ve checked out today, the overwhelming majority belong to teenagers.
Obviously I’m just some internet-stranger who has no comprehension of why you feel like self-harm is a solution to whatever problem you may be experiencing, so I’m not really in any position to give advice. I’m about as far from a mental health expert as you’ll find, but I was once a teenager and one thing I can promise you is that there are healthy and non-destructive ways to deal with your problems.
If you feel that family and friends can’t help you then all I can do is point you towards google and advise you to search for hotlines relating to whatever might be bringing you down. Help is out there, and it’s free, and it works.
Just please stop cutting yourselves.
2008 NHL Winter Classic (by steelopus)
I’m not convinced the Winter Classic will ever match the excitement, intensity, or thrill of the original edition.
I was there and it was one of the most memorable experiences of my life.

- Last night that 5-month-old post had ~40 notes.
- Last night we watched a movie called Wristcutters.
- Today that 5-month-old post has over 1,050 notes*.
- Coincidence is strange and awesome.
(* And it’s rapidly increasing as the cutting/cry for help/emo crowd continues to reblog the hell out of it. Their commentaries are depressing me.)

2012 has a lot to live up to.
Current status: all apps on my iPhone open at 1/4 size.
Jailbreaking; it’s not for the faint of heart.
(Click-through for the solution. Advice to potential jailbreakers: SBSettings should always be the first thing you install, after updating Cydia. It is the primary reason I jailbreak.)

Truthful Tuesday
On August 14, 2010 I went to my first roller derby bout. The next day I made a post about this super cute jammer; I concluded the post by saying “This can’t end well.”
Well… as it turns out: it can end well.
I’ve never been happier to have been wrong.
