I saw 500 Days of Summer this weekend and I loved lots and lots of parts of the movie.

I kinda need to see it again because my personal bias towards love and relationships have distorted my perception of the movie itself.

[if you saw the movie you will understand the irony]

I’m not sure when I will have the time to go again in the near future but if you want to see it let me know I might just come with.

Did I mention that I really liked almost every scene of this movie.

Duuuuuude, I want to go! But I have to go with someone who will reassure me that I’m just as pretty and quirky as Zooey Deschanel. I was depressed for weeks after I saw Eternal Sunshine because I figured no one will ever love me as much as Kate Winslet. So anyway, if we go those are my demands. I’m really no fun to go to movies with. ;)

As I’ve been preaching for MONTHS now, this is the best movie you’ll see all year.  Maya, you’re more than welcome to come to Rochester.  I plan to see this movie several more times in the theatres.  It’s that good.

High-res cleversimon:

It looks too twee by half and hipster enough to give Zach Braff heartburn, but 500 Days of Summer also has Joseph Gordon-Levitt and—I don’t know, some chick—meeting cute and having a bittersweetly doomed romance.
This and Moon are the two indie films I’m praying have a run in Edmonton this summer.

Allow me to once again preach the wonders of this film.  It was absolutely fantastic and I encourage everyone to go see it when it’s released in July.
I laughed straight through the first hour and then reality kicks in and well… just go see it.
Also: see what I wrote about one specific scene.

Zooey Deschanel Hit The IKEA In This EXCLUSIVE ‘500 Days Of Summer’ Clip

So, it’s been a week since I saw ‘500 Days of Summer’ and I still think it’s one of the best movies I’ve ever seen; full of humor and tenderness and reality, the movie is truly beautiful.

Now, two weeks ago I posted a song by Doves called There Goes The Fear in which I wrote the following:

“…like a scene from some indie movie where two friends finally realize they’re in love and they come together in a tender embrace.”

I wrote that BEFORE I had seen this movie.

Sitting in the theatre last Saturday night and seeing my exact interpretation of that song portrayed on the big screen by one of my favorite actresses gave me one of the most euphoric rushes of pure happiness that I’ve ever experienced in my life.

This is that scene. Please watch it - and please go see ‘500 Days of Summer’ when it is released July.
