I’m not convinced the Winter Classic will ever match the excitement, intensity, or thrill of the original edition.

Today is a great day for Rochester, as the Sabres and the Amerks, after a three-year separation, have been reunited!

If Terry Pegula keeps up his great work, he’ll be getting a lot of write-in votes in western NY during the 2012 presidential election.

Here is the story behind my previous post…

This is the cover of weezer’s green album, and a close-up picture of the guitar on the cover, and a zoomed crop of our sticker.

The background is that during weezer’s comeback tour in the summer of 2000*, Rivers requested fans to bring stickers to decorate his guitar.  I brought a bunch to their show on September 1 at Runwayz in Buffalo.  I interviewed Pat and Mikey on the bus before the show (with WBER) and then handed this sticker to Karl after the interview.  He he ran up on stage and stuck it on Rivers’ guitar just before they sound-checked.  At some point during the summer, that polaroid sticker got placed right in the center, but at least you can still tell that’s an FMGreen sticker beneath it.

There is also a split-second in the Hash Pipe video where Marcos Siega does one of those trendy quickzoom shots and our sticker is center-frame.

Yeah… good story…

*The new songs from that tour were so good. Dubbed “SummerSongs2k,” most were leaked in the fall of 2000.  If you want them, let me know and I’ll be happy to share.  Most are much better than the songs that made it onto the green album.
