Day 3
Honestly, the pain has been completely bearable. When the Roxicet and the Ibuprofen are cooperating, this is hardly as bad as the dozens of bouts of tonsillitis that I’ve suffed from through the years.
The nausea, however, I was not anticipating. I’m starving and I’m ready to start eating, but each bite of anything other than these Edy’s bars brings a wave of discomfort to my belly region.
It’s a good thing these things are so delicious.
Vomiting is extremely painful. Don’t do that again after your next tonsillectomy.
1:15 am: a fake marimba wakes me from my slumber. Take a dose of Roxicet and eat a bowl of green jello.
I could get used to this. I think I’ll have another tonsillectomy next month.

I’m excitedly terrified.
Sayonara, tonsils. (Taken with Instagram at University Otolaryngology)
I’m searching ebay for the face wash that I use every-other day (even days) because it was seemingly discontinued sometime between the last time I bought a tube and last weekend.
And so, this is what my life has become. Is this rock bottom?
A few years ago I started adding my sicknesses as yearly-repeating events on my Google calendar.
Now I’m beginning to see patterns.
The fourth week of April can go fuck itself.
While recording a vocal track* for song #41, I bit the inside of my lip. It has been bleeding profusely for 5 minutes. I’m pretty sure that this Q-tip is the only thing keeping me alive right now.
The best part: the mic was live so the moment was captured. It the most hilariously painful recording of my life. Maybe I’ll release it as an outtake.
*If anyone asks - I was in a hockey fight.

Anyway. My predictions were spot on. When the doc walked in he gave me a look like “Really? Again with this shit?”
The rapid strep test came back negative. He took another culture that he’ll send to the lab for a full test.
He still thinks it’s probably Group A Strep and he sent me away with a script for Amoxicillin and a recommendation to continue my Advil/Tylenol regimen for the swelling and the pain.
I just swallowed 8 pills in one sitting. Experience tells me that if this is indeed strep, the Amoxicillin will kick in after a day and I’ll feel almost 100% better by Friday. If it’s not strep, I’ll just be needlessly eating antibiotics and for 10 days. In either case, I’ve got 10 days of Stinky-Pee™ to look forward to.
