Seven 9s and 10s

High-res
What’s something FMGreen hasn’t done yet but wants to?
Scott: I want to do recording experiments in a hyperbaric chamber. Just because, if there’s no sound in space, then I imagine a less-dense airspace as being a place where you can play instruments really loud but not stress the microphones out. It’s something that came out of wanting to be the first band to play in space.
So you’re waiting for a call from NASA?
Steve: Oh, we would go in an instant.

High-res V.2
The original reference we received a few weeks ago had some problems. At first the folks at Golden Mastering thought our master tapes were damaged, but I sent them some digital files that proved otherwise. After some back-and-forth with them, it was discovered that there was an issue with one of the playback heads on their tape machine. John remastered Victory! with a new playback head and overnighted us Reference V.2. It sounds great.
We recorded this in my basement and I’m pretty sure few people would be able to tell just by listening to it. We owe a ton of credit to our good friend Brian Aloisio for the excellent work he did while engineering this album. It’s the best thing we’ve ever done and he’s a large part of that.

High-res This is it, folks!
If the band approves the sound of this reference copy of the Victory! mastering, then we’ll receive our PMCD in a few days and we’ll be 100% finished with the audio portion of this project!
I cannot wait to listen to this, which is why I took the afternoon off from work. I’m burning copies for the rest of the band and I’ll spend the next few hours listening in my car as I drive to deliver the CDRs. Holy crap this feels good.
