High-res The Kid Stays In The Picture
I watched this again recently for the first time since its release. It remains a brutally honest telling of Evans’ story - direct from the mouth of the man himself. I can’t recommend it enough.
On a related note, it’s a crime that Comedy Central hasn’t released Evans’ fantastic animated series Kid Notorious on DVD. That show gave me some great laughs, and it featured Slash as his sidekick. Amazing.

My evening:

  1. I watched Vanilla Sky for the first time since I originally saw it in the theatre in 2001.  It was only slightly better this time around.  Also, Penelope Cruz’s boobies.
  2. I watched Jacob’s Ladder for the first time since I originally saw it in 1991, when I was 11.  It was much better this time around, as I actually [mostly] understood what the hell was happening and didn’t spend [as much] time hiding my eyes from the demons.  Also, Elizabeth Peña’s boobies.

Psychological Sunday is now a thing, at least until football starts.  Feel free to submit recommendations for future Psychological Sundays.

WASN'T MOON AWESOME?

Totally awesome.

I liked it more than The Hurt Locker, which I watched a few hours later.

It’s kind of a shame that Sam Rockwell didn’t get any recognition. It can’t be easy to be the only actor in 99% of a film, especially when you’re (SPOILER ALERT?) playing multiple roles.  I thought he gave a tremendous performance.

Movie Montage of the Day: If there is one thing Hollywood loves, it’s a good disaster. If there is one thing Hollywood loves even more, it’s when that disaster takes place in New York.

To prove my point, here’s a three-minute montage set to George Gershwin’s “Rhapsody in Blue” of Hollywood fapping while New York burns.

This was great but I’m really intrigued by Julee Cruise’s cover of It’s The End of the World as We Know It played at the end.

This is awesome! It just saved me from having to sit through 22 shitty movies just to see the cool parts!
