Seven 9s and 10s

High-res Here’s my 2012 NHL Playoff Bracket (note the reseeding in the East after Round 1 due to the upset elimination of the Bruins). This would be my “betting” bracket. In other words, this is who I actually think will win, rather than who I want to win. The teams that I want to win in each round are printed in green. If I was to go with my heart, I’d see the Panthers vs the Blues in the finals, with the Panthers claiming their first cup. I can’t ignore the fact that NY has arguably the best goalie in the tournament, and I think “King Henrick” will carry them to the finals, but ultimately Vancouver wants it too badly to lose two years in a row. Plus, it’d be nice for a Canadian team to finally win the cup for the first time in nearly 20 years, at the very least so we don’t have to hear Canadians crying about it anymore. Bottom line: ABTB*! The Plight of a Buffalo Sabres Fan

As if it’s not bad enough that we’re stuck in a division with three Canadian teams, now we’re going to have to hear the Bruins introduced as “The Stanley Cup Champion Boston Bruins” for at least the next 10 months and Tim Thomas introduced as “2011 Vezina and Conn Smythe Trophy Winner Tim Thomas.” Ugh. I think I’d rather see Mike Modano* in a Sabres jersey than have to deal with that bullshit.
