Ligeti : Etude No. 4 “Fanfare” (via Makibrahms)

PROOF THAT IT CAN BE PLAYED.

I’m good at many musical instruments, but I suck pretty bad at piano. I had four full semesters of piano class in music school, but none of it stuck. I’m ok at banging crap out by ear, but I can’t read piano music for shit, and I sure as hell don’t have the right/left independence that is required to pull something like this off.

More so than any other musicians, great pianists are the ones that continually blow my mind with their incredible talents.

Currently blowing my mind: the insane repeating pattern running throughout this etude. Listen to this and keep in mind it’s ONLY ONE PIANO. Brilliant and unbelievably difficult.

Chat Roulette Piano Improv

Just when I think I hate the world, I find out there are people like this guy out there and I fall in love with it all over again.

The world is such a wonderful place.

La-di-da…

I’ve never used Chat Roulette, but this video makes me want to grab my guitar and spend the rest of my life on the site trying to find this guy so we can have a live improv jam session.
