That’s what I’ve been doing for months anyway, so really this is nothing different.
Seriously Tumblr? 10:39pm on a Saturday night is high-capacity?
But then you error out with this stupid message?

Clearly my username and password are correct because you were able to pull down the list of all the Tumblrs associated with my email address. Tumblr, you’re pretty damned worthless lately, and if it weren’t for the great community of people I would probably go elsewhere.

Tumblr Backup Woes:
For anyone that sees this message while attempting to use the Tumblr Backup app, commenters in this post have discovered that the error is linked to…
…wait for it…
the queue.
That’s right folks. If you have any posts in your queue, the backup app will not be able to process them and the entire backup will fail. It’s a beta-app trying to back up a perpetually-in-beta-feature.
Please excuse me while I spend the next fifteen minutes converting my 21 queued posts into drafts, just so I can backup my blog.

Seriously.
Maybe a change of color will fix the Queue once and for all?
You know what, Tumblr Queue?
You’ve been doing pretty good with my “post once daily between 9am and 10am” setting, but anytime I manually schedule a post, the most recent queued post displays its “will be posted on” time wrong.
I give up. Fine. You win.
I don’t care if you display scheduled and queued posts correctly to me, just as long as you post them when they are supposed to be posted.
(File under: No one cares but me but it bothers me so much and no I won’t just let this die!)
Good job fixing that Queue, Tumblr.
I’m really loving the way scheduled posts don’t actually post when they are supposed to! I don’t know how you pulled it off, but that is truly some killer new functionality. Keep up the good work!!!
*eyeroll*
(For historical reference, this screenshot was taken on a Wednesday… after 10:00am)
I’ll give them some time to respond to my support request.
(Interesting to note that they’ve removed the post that I linked to and nitpicked in this post.)
How is that “complete overhaul of the Queue feature with some killer new functionality” coming along?
You know, the one that you were pushing out “Later this week” - which was actually last week - because you “[…] decided the best course is to take the queues offline and expedite the relaunch.”
Perhaps you could clarify your understanding of the word “expedite.” Or maybe “relaunch” is the word that you’re having trouble understanding.
Well, anyway. I’m just checking in to make sure you’re OK and you haven’t gotten off track trying to design cute little sharks to stick on our avatars or an arbitrary number ranking system.
Sincerely missing my queue and looking forward to its “expedited” “relaunch” with “killer” “new” “functionality,”

Later this week we’re pushing a complete overhaul of the Queue feature with some killer new functionality.
In the meantime though, the existing queue service is handling a volume of posts it was never designed for. To prevent it from becoming unstable and mis-publishing posts, we’ve decided the best course is to take the queues offline and expedite the relaunch.
The Queue feature will not be publishing any posts until then, but you can still publish any queued posts manually. We’re terribly sorry for the inconvenience, but we promise it will be worth the wait!
Remember when they posted this a few days ago?
I’m struggling to understand their definition of “expedite the relaunch,” because it’s now Saturday and that means we’re already well past “Later this week”.
Really? That’s how you fixed the Queue, Tumblr? You converted everything to minutes instead of days-hours-minutes?
Um, OK. Whatever makes it work is fine by me.
green! girl, queued for 10am, as always.
It is now 12:30pm.
I’m still waiting for it to be published.
Tumblr and Twitter are competing for the MOST FAIL award today.
