A few more scenes from the second day of our drive down Highway 1 (details in the photo captions.).
This panorama doesn’t do justice to the view. It’s truly breathtaking (especially with Heather in view).

A few more quick shots from our first day on Route 1. The first is the enormous pile of ice cream I was served at Marianne’s (Snickerdoodle cookie dough. It was amazing.). The second shows the Bixby Bridge carrying Route 1 over the jagged Pacific coast at Big Sur. The last is the sunset, which was one of the most beautiful moments of my life.
More moments from Half Moon Bay.
Last Tuesday, actually. Our last morning in the bay area, just before we started our drive down Route 1.
Yesterday, actually. Sunset at Big Sur. Spectacular.
For all the signal boosts last night, and especially to Lindsay and Erica for offering a place to stay.
We ended up “sleeping” on a bench at the airport because it just didn’t make sense for us to sit on trains and busses for 2 hours when we only had a 7 hour layover.

We probably won’t land until after 11pm central and then fly out tomorrow morning about 8am.
Hey. I’ve never rented a car before.
We’ll be in California for a week and probably renting for at least 5 days.
Please give me your advice!
Saturday October 12 (San Francisco) through Saturday October 19 (San Diego)
You’ve been warned.
Gorgeous. Add it to my list of places to visit.
the falls! (at Niagara Falls (Canadian Side))
We’re committing touristicide.
On September 14th in Pittsburgh, I’ll finally get to cross Queens of the Stone Age off my list of “favorite bands that I’ve never seen live.” The shorter that list gets, the happier I am.
Keep up the good work, 2013. You’ve been awesome so far on many levels.
I know a lot of good people there… but unfortunately there are about 16 million other people who I don’t know - and it’s those 16 million humans who make me look forward to leaving before I even arrive.
