“Our latest session with The Milk Carton Kids at the Alberta Abbey is one of many great and proud moments. The duo and the space breathed together. Passing cars found their place within and between the songs, and in the same way guitars and voices found their place in the natural beauty of a large reverberant gymnasium.”
I couldn’t let my last post live at the top of my blog for any longer, especially not on Christmas.
If you’re looking for some non-Christmas music to break up the monotony of the season, you could do far worse than the three songs performed in this 12-minute video.
I hope you have a wonderful day. Much love to you all.
I decided the best tribute I could offer Jim Marshall would be to go down to the basement in my rock and roll sweater and my poorly fitting rock and roll pants and my SUPER ROCK AND ROLL SLIPPERS and plug my Les Paul straight into my Marshall half-stack and play some rock and fucking roll.
So here’s me playing Go! from FMGreen’s 3-2-1 Go! EP.
Volume at 5… turned up to 11 at the end just to make sure the residents of the neighboring county could hear me clearly.
(Side note… the mic on the iPhone is impressively resilient. The SPL meter in front of me was registering 120+dB the entire time.)
The Mountain (by Terje Sorgjerd)
I’ve seen a lot of time lapse nature/astronomy videos, but this one is pretty special.
Take a few minutes to relax today and watch this.

Beautiful winter time lapse video shot in Downtown Rochester by Mind Relic Photography
I love my city. 10-year-ago-me would not have said that. I’ve grown into this feeling.
After our editing session last weekend, we threw together this little teaser video for Victory!.
Here are a few seconds of each song to help you get a feel for the album. None of this is mixed and it’s just the audio from my camera, so it doesn’t particularly sound all that impressive, but all-in-all it still sounds like FMGreen.
More updates will follow as we progress through mixing.
Thanks again for all of your support!

Do you like CHOCOLATE?
What about PRETTY BLINKY LIGHTS?
Do you like LADYBUGS?
And maybe FALLING SNOW?
Do you like CHRISTMAS SHIT?
We recommend closing your eyes while watching this video to get the full effect.
Lock yourself in a sensory deprivation tank while watching this, if you can.

This is what being at my house drives people to, you guys.
I’m pretty sure the awesomeness of this video is what broke Tumblr. Sorry, guys!
Just in case you missed it while Tumblr was down, treets, jaydensmommie, nicky36 and I made a video a few days ago. It is, perhaps, the greatest video ever made.

This is video from outside the car of my best run: 30.0 flat. Vroom vroom! Listen to that boxer growl!
I think losing the weight of my cameraman really helped my time.
Here’s the in-car video from my third run at yesterday’s impromptu-autocross event.
31.5 seconds of horror in an underpowered, NA, AT, 3,700+lb car.
Lots of fun!
Notes:
- Yes, that’s an acoustic version of Semi-Charmed Life you hear in the background. Sometimes you’ve just got to ignore the radio.
- I love the sound of my unmodified engine when she opens up. Boxers rule.
- Keep your eye on my keychain for a general indication of the force of the turns.
- I clipped a cone in that last right-hander. My car was about a foot longer than everyone else’s, with a longer wheel base. It was a tight track.
If you’re still struggling to understand why I’m such a big fan of David Bazan, this beautifully shot and edited ~12 minute performance/interview/tour diary HD video should clear things up.
I’m never going to stop singing his praises; he’s just too good.

Pixies - “Gigantic” (Live, 1988)
BF made Pixies seem like they wouldn’t need more than some decent speakers and 40 minutes to permanently rewire your brain.
But, Kim made Pixies feel like they were also our band. Which is why this version of “Gigantic” might be my favorite thing ever.
(I mean. After my kid. Or, you know. Whatever.)
OT: Has anyone—with the possible exception of Neko Case—ever looked cuter sweating in a dumpy t-shirt? No. The answer is no.
In regards to your OT… yes, Merlin. The answer is yes. This guy: http://vimeo.com/6167737

The making of a week’s worth of green! (via steelopus)
What does it take to find a week’s worth of green!?
This many pages of a green search, several nights a week.
I’ve been holding this video I made for a few weeks, but I think it’s time you all saw it.
This is a 30 second Public Service Announcement that you all need to watch.
I hope your not mad.
